Yes, it must be included on your tax return. If the RMD was from an IRA, TurboTax will ask how much of distribution was transferred directly to charity, will exclude this amount (up to $100,000) from taxable income and will include the "QCD" notation on Form 1040 line 4b. If you made a contribution to charity that does not qualify as a QCD, such as an RMD from a 401(k) or a contribution you made after the distribution was paid to you, you must claim a charitable deduction on Schedule A.
