Retirement tax questions
There are two possible issues:
1. The 1099R is not marked correctly, either in the program or on the form.
- You need to go back to the federal input screen and make sure the state distribution is marked as zero.
- If the 1099R shows a state distribution, you may need to be sure it is not taxable. If it is not taxable, contact the issuer for a corrected 1099-R.
2. The income may be taxable. Here is the income PA says is taxable vs not taxable: Former employer is not descriptive enough.
