If you are over 70.5 years old, the program will ask you about whether the 1099R distribution is a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
In TurboTax Online, the page is labeled About This Retirement Account and appears shortly after you make your entries. The page asks you Was This Withdrawl an RMD and if you answer yes, a second question opens up to ask you how much of the distribution was an RMD.
