Retirement tax questions
Unfortunately, you cannot file a tax return if your wife does not have a SS#. However, she can go online and apply or go to the nearest Social Security Administration office to apply. She needs to meet the requirements needed such as her birth certificate, an identification issued by the state or a drivers license, a current utility bills or any documents that will certify her identification. If she doesn’t have any of this then you need to contact the IRS how to acquire a individual tax return number.
