Retirement tax questions

Turbotax does provide the import feature for the Form 1099-B. Please check with Merrill Lynch to see if the forms are available.  It generally takes 3 days to activate the link in TurboTax after Merrill Lynch provides you access to the Form 1099-B on their website.

Once you login to TurboTax, select Personal Income Tab

  1. Navigate to the section labeled Investment Income and select the entry for “Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other”.
  2. When prompted with “Did you sell any investments in 2018?” and “Did you get a 1099-B or a brokerage statement for these sales?” click the “Yes” button.
  3. Search for “Merrill Lynch”, select the entry, then click Continue.
  4. When prompted for your Merrill Lynch Login, use the user ID and password for your Merrill Lynch account.
  5. Click Import Now and your transactions should be imported.
