Retirement tax questions
Turbotax does provide the import feature for the Form 1099-B. Please check with Merrill Lynch to see if the forms are available. It generally takes 3 days to activate the link in TurboTax after Merrill Lynch provides you access to the Form 1099-B on their website.
Once you login to TurboTax, select Personal Income Tab
- Navigate to the section labeled Investment Income and select the entry for “Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other”.
- When prompted with “Did you sell any investments in 2018?” and “Did you get a 1099-B or a brokerage statement for these sales?” click the “Yes” button.
- Search for “Merrill Lynch”, select the entry, then click Continue.
- When prompted for your Merrill Lynch Login, use the user ID and password for your Merrill Lynch account.
- Click Import Now and your transactions should be imported.
