I made a nonqualifying withdrawal from a college savings plan and received a 1099Q. I enter the information, and it shows up as income from the entire distribution?
Since the basis was post-tax income, I should only pay taxes on the earnings and the 10% penalty. Why does the entire distribution (basis + earnings) show up as income?
