Retirement tax questions
Only a 401(k), 403(b) or 457(b) account can have a designated Roth account. A 401(a) plan that does not have a 401(k) element cannot have a designated Roth account. As macuser_22 indicated, it is impermissible to roll any kind of Roth account over to any kind of traditional retirement account.
