Retirement tax questions
Try this instead:
- Sign into your return, and select "take me to my return"
- On the left select "Federal", then "Wages & Income" at the top
- Scroll down to "Less Common Income", select show more
- Select "revisit" beside "Foreign Earned Income and Exclusion" (see attachment)
- You should now see the option to select "yes" or "no" for Did You Make Any Money Outside the United States?
If that does not work simply delete the form:
- Go to "Tax Tools" > "Tools"
- Under the Tools Center, select "Delete a Form" Form 2555
- select the form that you need to delete and delete it
If the form does not delete, you need to make sure that you delete all the information and amounts entered related to foreign income in TurboTax. This includes:
- Make sure that you are answering "no" to the question "Would You Like to Try and Exclude Your Foreign Earned Income?" under the Foreign earned income section
- If this foreign income is related to a W-2, you will need to make sure the you have removed the "x" from the box regarding the situation that the "work was done outside the US"
