What if I filed my taxes stating that I contributed to an IRA, but I actually did not contribute?

This question pertains to the tax year ending Apr 18, 2017.  I have already submitted and received my federal and state refunds on a return where I declared that I had contributed $5,500 to a non-deductible IRA.  But finally, I decided not to do that.  Do I need to do anything? Amended return? etc?
