Retirement tax questions
Like any regular distribution from your IRAs, a distribution paid to you is a mix of taxable (from before-tax funds) and nontaxable amounts (from basis) in the proportions calculated on Form 8606. The only case where a portion of your distribution would come only from before-tax funds is an amount transferred to charity as a QCD.
