Backdoor Roth. Do I report a 2016-R for non-deductible IRA that I created in Jan 2016 for 2015 year on my 2016 return even though I reported it on my 2015 return?
I received a 2016 1099R for my non deductible IRA which I converted to a ROTH. I did both in Jan. 2016 for the 2015 tax year. I reported both in my 2015 tax return. However, I just received the 2016 1099R for the IRA. Do I report it on my 2016 tax return even though I reported it on my 2015 tax return? Also, I plan on contributing to a non-decutible IRA and converting to a ROTH now (in 2017) for the 2016 tax year. How will that affect the 1099 that I received?
