Yes, it would satisfy your RMD requirement for 2017.
However, if your intent is to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution, QCDs can only be made after you actually reach age 70½. A distribution transferred to charity in 2017 before you reach age 70½ would satisfy your RMD, but would not be a QCD and would have to be reported on Schedule A as a charitable contribution deduction instead.
