Retirement tax questions
Each of the two 1099-R's show exactly 1/2 of the total annual combined monthly distributions. The two 1099-R IRS Forms "8H8034 3.000" have only one line for boxes 12, 13 and 14 so that must be the reason why the Recipient completed two forms. The one that has Texas listed as the state shows "0" as the state distribution probably because there is no state income tax. The one that has Kansas listed as the state reflects one half of the total annual combined monthly distributions probably based on the date I notified them of my change of address. I don't know anything about filing part-year resident tax returns but hopefully Turbo Tax will point me in that direction. I have so far been unsuccessful in reaching anyone at the Recipient's place of business. Based on your input I feel pretty comfortable in reporting both 1099-R's and I was already prepared to file a Kansas return I just did not know it would be a part-year return. You have been helpful and I appreciate your assistance.
