@tchelavr - Do you have a 1099-R or are you trying to enter as above?
If the excess was returned in 2017 then the tax withholding must be reported on your 2017 tax return next year, only the 2016 excess is reported for 2016.
If the excess was returned in 2017 then the tax withholding must be reported on your 2017 tax return next year, only the 2016 excess is reported for 2016.
