Your Social Security income is reported on your tax return but only up to 85% of the benefits are taxable. You can preview your 1040 to see both the total and the taxable amounts.
- Continue your return in TurboTax Online. (If your return isn't open, you'll need to sign in and click Take me to my return.)
- Click the drop-down arrow next to Tax Tools (lower left side of your screen).
- Select Tools.
- Under Other helpful links…, click View Tax Summary.
- At the left side of the screen, click Preview My 1040.
- Scroll down to line 20 of Form 1040 or Line 14 of Form 1040A. The taxable amount is on line 20b or line 14b. (Click the screenshot below for reference.)
