Yep, the amount is shown in 12 D, but it's not deducted at the top (in boxes 1, 3, or 5) from any of the income amounts- those all show identical numbers.
But, if I understand you correctly, you're saying that the box 1 amount plus the box 12 D amount equal my actual income, and the box 1 has already had the contributions deducted?
