Here's how to enter the various types of Form 1099-G, please follow the steps below to enter the Form in TurboTax Online:

How to enter Unemployment 1099-G:

1.      Sign into your Online account and select "Take me to my return".

2.      Select "Federal" in the left side panel then select "Income & Expenses" at the top.

3.      Scroll down to "Unemployment" and select "Show more"

4.      Select Start/Revisit next to "Unemployment and Paid Family Leave"

5.      Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the Form.

Here is how to enter your 1099-G for State/Local tax:

1.      Sign into your Online account and select "Take me to my return".

2.      Select "Federal" in the left side panel then select "Income & Expenses" at the top.

3.      Scroll down to "Other Common Income" and click "Show more"

4.      Select "Start/Revisit" next to "Refunds received for State/Local Tax Returns".

5.      Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the Form.

Here is how to enter any other Form 1099-G:

1.      Sign into your Online account and select "Take me to my return".

2.      Select "Federal" in the left side panel then select "Income & Expenses" at the top.

3.      Scroll down to "Other Common Income" and click "Show more"

4.       Select Start/Revisit next to Other 1099-G income.


Here's how to enter your Form W-2:

1.      Open (continue) your return if you don't already have it open and click the button Take me to my return

2.      Select Federal in the left navigation panel.

3.      Next select Income & Expenses at the top.

4.      Scroll down to Wages and Salaries and select Show more.

 5.     Click Start/Revisit next to Wages and Salaries and follow the instructions to enter the form.

As far as depositing your refund into your son's account. Because most banks have fraud-prevention measures that won't allow a direct deposit into an account bearing a different name.Chances are the bank will reject the IRS's direct-deposit request because the name on the refund (yours) doesn't match the account holder's.
