Some of it may be. Social Security benefits may be taxable at any age. When 1/2 of the SS benefit plus all of your other income is more than $32,000, MFJ then up to 85% of the SS benefit is taxable. Just enter the benefit amount shown in Box 5 of the SSA-1099 and Turbotax will calculate the taxable portion, if any. That is true for any age from birth to death.
