Why does TurboTax indicate that our PA Public School Retirement (PSERS) pension requires my wife to take an RMD?
She is 70.5 years old, but the pension pays fixed monthly payments. The 1099-R lists amounts in box 1, 2a, 4 and 7. The distribution code in box 7 is "7".
