Retirement tax questions
We can't see your return or what you have on your 8606 for a basis. I have two thoughts:
1.Forms/ entry issue: You may have an extra 1099-R that imported, the 8606 basis is not correct, etc
Verify your 8606, 1040 Wks and flow of the income through the forms. To print or view your forms, including all worksheets:
- In desktop, switch to Forms Mode.
- For online:
- On the left side, select Tax Tools
- Select Print center
- Select Print, save or preview this year's return
- If you have not paid, select pay now.
2. A full or corrupted cache can cause problems in TurboTax, sometimes you need to clear your cache (that is, remove these temporary files).
Online version:
- Delete the form 1099-R, see How to Delete
- Log out of your return and try one or more of the following:
- Log back into your return.
- Enter the information again.
Desktop version:
- Delete the form 1099-R
- Save your return while closing the program.
- Update the program
- Open
- Enter the information again.
