Retirement tax questions
You enter the Form 1099-MISC in the Other Common Income section, which is in the Wages and Income area of TurboTax. Look for Income from Form 1099-MISC. In that section you will be asked questions to determine if your income is "other income" or self-employment income. Since it is not self-employment income, you need to indicate that you did not have a profit motive to earn the money, you only received it in the current year and it is not associated with your job. That will designate the income as not being self-employment income.
