How and where do I need to document which year the contribution applies where it is recognized and accepted by the IRS? In a prior year the IRS didn't accept my contribution for the year that I had intended it (the year prior to when it was actually contributed). That year, the impact wasn't as great. I don;t want to get it wrong this time.
