How do I handle UBTI within a Schwab IRA account for North Carolina State taxes?
My IRA Custodian, Schwab, filed a 990-T for the US Federal IRS requirements handling of UBTI in an IRA. I was a 30 some page filing and am glad that Schwab handled it all as the IRS requires.
Now I need to know how to handle the UBTI in my IRA for North Carolina State Tax purposes. The NC Dept of Revenue agent pointed me to the D-403A form. Google AI overview said it's form CD-405 that is filed by the custodian. Schwab said they only handle filing UBTI from an IRA with the Federal IRS.
Nether NC form, D-403A or CD-405, say anything about how to handle UBTI within an IRA.
Can anyone here say how to handle this for NC?
