Complete Distribution of an Annuity to only one joint owner
There was just a complete distribution of an annuity with two owners. The insurance company did not write a joint check and just did a 1099 for the primary owner. The funds were distributed 50/50 and the secondary owner wants to pay taxes on its share directly to the IRS.. How can that be accomplished without the primary owner paying twice?
