Retirement tax questions

It depends.  if the only income you have is from SSA, do do not need to file a return.  If you have other income beside SSA, it's possible some to the income may be taxable.  if you do have other income to report, then report your SSA income and TurboTax will inform you if some of it is taxable or not.
