If you would like to enter your Roth contributions so that TurboTax tracks your basis, here is how to do so in TurboTax Online:
- Go to Deductions & Credits
- On the Your tax break screen, locate and select the Retirement and Investments section, then select Start or Revisit next to Traditional IRA and Roth IRA.
- On the Traditional IRA and Roth IRA screen, check the Roth IRA box and select Continue.
- Continue to enter your contributions
- On the screen Let Us Track Your Roth IRA Basis, answer "Yes" and proceed through the interview
