Hi clstebb Turbotax was supposed to address this. I had finally wound up reporting this through the BBB and they failed to even provide a customer service link. The phone number they reference required a service report number which obviously I did not get. I then registered a complaint through the State Attorney General and finally was able to get a customer service person .... a CPA. She promised that the box 16 issue would be addressed. You are correct. It has NOT been addressed. BTW Turbotax keeps telling customers to fill in the box 16 themselves. That would constitute tampering with a Federal Tax document. The IRS strictly says you must fill out form Form 4852 which Turbotax DOES NOT stipulate. I did escalate this through our Ohio State Senator so that the Ohio Department of Taxation gave me specific permission to transfer the correct information (box 14 to box 16) myself. I tried to get the form revised by the annuity company (MetLife) and they kept giving misinformation through my BBB complaint that 'boxes 14 -19 are not required to be filled by IRS'. I will be reopening my Attorney General complaint. Will be switched to another tax software after this.
