To answer your first question, it is not a typo.  The Form 1099-R that you will receive will be a 2025 form.  You are just creating it and entering it 'early' so you won't need to amend the 2024 return later.

 

Also, do go ahead and enter the Roth contribution as part of your return.  The messaging on screen will tell you to have the excess removed and you will be able to indicate that this was done in a timely manner.  That way, everything will be documented properly on your tax return.
