Retirement tax questions
As long as you met the RMD for 2024 it should be fine. But since you are using TurboTax Desktop you could enter it in forms mode.
- Pull up 5329-S and scroll down to part IX
- In the Additional Retirement Account Smart Worksheet under Non-inherited IRA, Additional enter the RMD from the IRA you didn't make any withdrawals.
This is an example of a $5,000 distribution from one IRA-a which had a $2,000 RMD, another IRA-b had a $3,000 RMD but nothing was withdrawn from this IRA-b because it was covered by the other IRA-a.
Note, this Smart Worksheet does not get sent to the IRS.
