Retirement tax questions

No to not enter a fake 1099-R.

I cannot recreate the issue and get the "Did You Miss a Required Distribution From Any Retirement Accounts?" screen for primary and spouse. Are you using TurboTax Desktop or TurboTax Online?

Please verify that the 1099-R is assigned to your spouse. To clarify, your spouse gets the RMD questions for the Form 1099-R entered?

Generally, if your spouse met all of her RMD for 2024 then you do not need to file Form 5329. TurboTax will enter the information in the "Additional Retirement Account Smartsheet" to check that you met the RMD but this will not be sent to the IRS. Therefore, if your spouse doesn't show a penalty on Form 5329 then it should be ok.
