I thought it was doing something wrong with my RMD as well because it flagged me this year. Then I found out that I was taking my RMD from a combination of 401k and IRA accounts. They needed to be done separately. I couldn't take my full requirement from just one type of account. It didn't catch the error until this year. Last years Turbotax let it go through. It was the IRA/SEP/Simple flag on the 1099-R that makes the difference.
