Retirement tax questions
Take a look at this thread in the Community and especially pay attention to the answers of dmertz.
For example, he notes that the 8880 is not added to the return if no Saver's Credit is needed...but you might not apply nonrefundable credits in the same order as the IRS. So while you might think you deserve a credit, by the time TurboTax gets to it, because of other credits there may be no tax left to apply the Saver's Credit to (therefore, no 8880).
