There is no bug. If you follow the instructions that JulieS gave above, TurboTax will create Form 8949 with either box C or box F checked, depending on whether it is short-term or long-term. You can do this in 2024 TurboTax Premier.
If you enter a specific acquisition date (instead of "various") you will not get what JulieS called "the last question" in step 12. That question asks whether it's short-term or long-term. If you enter a specific date TurboTax will determine the term based on the dates, so it does not need to ask that question.
