Retirement tax questions
This is puzzling. I can't get my test to do anything like this.
OK,
1. line 4b is taxable income from IRA distributions. Any reason jumps out at you why your entries would be non-taxable?
2. How did you handle the RMD question on each 1099-R?
3. By any chance, did you say that this was for a disaster distribution?
4. Were any of these Roth accounts?
5. For the other 1099-Rs, when asked what you did with the money (the distribution), what did you answer?
I know it has gotten down to the nitty-gritty, but we don't see why 4b would be zero, unless you typed something unusual.
Note that it is common for 4a to be blank, because of the arcane IRS rules for 4a (and 5a, for that matter), but since 4b is taxable, it's not obvious why it is zero in your case.
