Retirement tax questions

You can see if there is an errant Form 1099-R in your program and delete it as follows:

 

1. Choose the Tax Tools option on your left menu bar

2. Choose Tools

3. Choose the Delete a form option under Other Helpful links 

4. Find the Form 1099-R in the list and delete it

 

If that doesn't work you can go to the Form 1099-R entry screen and enter a simple Form 1099-R, and then delete it.

 

  1. Go to the Wages and Income section of TurboTax 
  2. Find the Retirement Plans and Social Security menu option in the Wages and Income section of TurboTax
  3. Start or Update IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)
  4. Choose Add (Another) 1099-R
  5. Choose I'll type it in myself
