Retirement tax questions
Box 16 of your 1099-R is the state distribution, which may be a required entry in TurboTax depending on the state you live in. Box 2a is the taxable portion of the distribution from box 1. Box 2a is empty because your rollover isn't taxable. Distribution Codes B and G that are in box 7 because that you had a designated Roth distribution that was a direct rollover to a qualified plan.

When can put the amount from box 1 in box 16. There's not going to be an impact on your tax return because this isn't a taxable distribution.
