Retirement tax questions

The 1099-NEC is used to report non-employee compensation.  This will be entered as self-employment income on your tax return if the annual payments exceed $400.  To enter the 1099-NEC in TurboTax, follow these steps:

 

  1. Sign in to TurboTax
  2. Select Wages & Income
  3. Select Self-Employment Income
  4. Click Add a line of Work
  5. Answer interview questions
  6. When you get to "Let's enter your income for work", select 1099-NEC
  7. Enter information from 1099-NEC (if you have multiple, enter them separately)
