Retirement tax questions
TurboTax does subtract out social security benefits on the Missouri return. Any social security benefits taxable on the federal return, are automatically subtracted on Missouri tax return. You won't see a subtraction for any benefits that were not taxable on your federal return.
Removing the Missouri adjusted gross income limitation from the social security/social security disability deduction will result in 100% of all social security benefits no longer being taxed in Missouri for individuals who are 62 years of age or older, and 100% of social security disability benefits no longer being taxed in Missouri. This only applies to the extent these benefits are included in federal adjusted gross income.
