Retirement tax questions
It depends on the type of 1099 you are waiting to receive. There are several types (1099-R, 1099-G, 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC are some of them). If you received income that would be reported on a 1099-Nec or 1099-MISC, you may not receive the form if your income was less than $600 but you're still required to report the income.

If you didn't receive any other type of 1099, contact the issuer to get a replacement. If you're unable to retrieve your 1099 from the issuer, you can contact the IRS for assistance at 1-800-829-1040. The IRS can help you with trying to obtain your 1099.
