filing jointly but receiving different social security entry per year?
Wife and I have a ranch for about 20 years as well as a successful non-ranch business. The losses from ranching were used to offset the income from non-ranching business. We always filed jointly, the ranch salary was not specifically itemized, as self employed income, a cost on the ranch side woule just offset the income side on the tax return. Even though all returns were filed under my SSN, why do I have $0 years in my retirement account. Do I need to roll back 20 years of tax returns to correct this? Is this correctable? We are talking numerous years with 6 digit income with 3' s in the first digit.
