Retirement tax questions
Roth 457(b) contributions are not excluded from your wages. Roth contributions must be made from taxed compensation, meaning that you are not allowed to "write off" (deduct) the amount of the contribution. However, if you meet the requirements, a voluntary Roth contribution to a governmental 457(b) can qualify you to receive a tax credit.
