Retirement tax questions
If you are not able to download your IRS form 1099-R, there are other options including typing it in yourself.
Follow these steps to report the 1099-R:
- Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal.
- Down the left side of the screen, click on Wages & income.
- Scroll down to Retirement Plans Social Security. Click the down arrow to the right.
- Click Start / Revisit to the right of IRA 401K Pension Plan Withdrawals.
- At the screen Let's import your tax info, select the provider.
- Follow the screens to download the 1099-R retirement income.
- You may enter the 1099-R retirement income by other means by selecting Change how I enter my form at the screen Let's get your tax info.
- You may download the form from the provider, upload a PDF, JPG or PNG file from your computer, snap a photo or type it in yourself.
