Hi,
I'm in California and received a 1099-G for prior year state income tax refund. Only box 2 and 3 are filled. Last year, we took an itemized deduction.
I believe I need to confirm if we deducted state or local income tax last year to determine if the value is taxable. I'm struggling to know which boxes to look at from our 1040 from last year to determine if taxable or not. Additionally, unsure what to enter for the question "total of all your payments and withholdings".
