Retirement tax questions
It depends The Turbo Tax program is designed to enter tax information in the step by step version and not the forms. The forms were designed to assist the taxpayer in determining how certain income, deductions, credits were applied but was never intended to be a primary source in entering your data.
In some instances, data can be directly entered on a form but this is an exception and not the rule because Turbo Tax Desktop was never meant to be a forms-based program.
Go to federal taxes>wages and income>Retirement plans and Social Security. In this section, you have a place to enter your IRA distribution in the IRA section and then the Social Security in the Social Security. When you check the forms, the information should be there reported as it should be.
