Retirement tax questions
A 401(k) plan is REQUIRED to provide you with a 2023 Form 1099-R reporting a 2023 rollover of a 401(k) to to an IRA. You cannot complete your tax return without it. Contact the 401(k) plan to obtain the missing form and then enter it into TurboTax.
You said that the originating account is a 401(k), but if the original account was actually an IRA and not a 401(k), and the account was moved by trustee-to-trustee transfer where the funds were never paid to you personally, this would be neither a distribution nor a rollover and would not be reportable on your tax return.
