This worked but not exactly as you stated. Changing from conversion to rollover just generated an enormous federal refund. I did not rollover; I converted from a traditional to a Roth and paid estimated taxes to cover the amount converted. When I checked the conversion to Roth box, the ridiculous refund disappeared. And, most important, the B section of the 1099R form in TurboTax now shows the right amounts in B4 and B6!
