Retirement tax questions
You are required to enter 9 digits when filing with TurboTax. Box 15 on form 1099-R should be 9 digits. If there are zeros before or after numbers you can drop them.
Try using the payer's Federal EIN here if you are unsure about the numbers to use. Some states have as many as 12 digits there but only 9 digits are used for filing income taxes. This number does not interfere with the processing of the tax return as long as CT is properly identified as the state filing.
