Retirement tax questions
It depends. What type of voluntary contribution did you make?
If you are referring to a voluntary charitable contribution elected on a state tax return, go back to the State section and select Edit next to the state return you need to change. Go to Other Situations - this is typically where you will find the State elections to make donations. Select that you want to Edit or Revisit the contributions and you can change your answer.
If you have a 401(k) or TSP through your employer, your contribution is reported in Box 12 of your W-2 with the letter code D.
If you made an allowable voluntary after-tax contribution to your employer's 401(k), that wouldn't have a tax consequence for the current year.
