Hi,
My parents will be coming to US and live with me. The situation is below. I am trying to list out everything as detail as possible.
- I will hire my parents as housekeeper and caregiver for me, as I do have serious mental health issues (I do have doctor notes and all) that occasionally hinders me doing basic house chores and take care of myself. I am employed full time and work from home.
- I plan to pay them $20,000-$25,000 a year.
- They will live together with me in the same house.
- This is their one and only main income, and they will not have any other sources of income.
My questions are:
- Will they be eligible to enroll in low-income health insurance?
- Do I need to split the payment in 2 parts for each of them? Like, my father will take care of fixing stuffs around the house, etc. and my mother will take care of cooking, grocery shopping. How do I fill out/take care of the paperwork for tax purposes?
