Only you know if you had any money in Roth accounts at year-end. Your Roth IRA custodian has no way of known if you have any Roth accounts with other custodian's If still have money in any Roth IRA accounts, answer Yes. If you no longer have any money in Roth IRA accounts, answer No. I suggest going back to the 1099-R entry section, clicking the Continue button on the Your 1099-R Entries page and proceeding to where TurboTax asks this question because there are other questions in that area that you might have also missed. Otherwise, just supply the answer to the question in the Smart Check where you are seeing this error message.
